Letter from Tom Lincir, President & CEO, Ivanko Barbell Company
"October 3, 2005
To all our valued customers:
Everyone hates a price increase, especially when you go to the gas pump.
During the last several years, we have enjoyed fairly stable commodity prices. However, during the last (2) years, prices of iron, and steel have doubled and some metals such as copper have tripled. Yet, Ivanko has continued to hold off on any price increase on our products.
We have made some changes in the line for the future....with the expansion of our USA made urethane line and other items we have added...we have deleted some styles of Ivanko product that have become obsolete and are no longer a basic item with our customers.
Enclosed you will find our new price list, effective immediately, wherby you will note some price increases on our products. These new prices solely reflect the prices of the raw materials and production costs. We must take these prices increases in order to maintain the Ivanko standard of quality and performance you expect from Ivanko products that has been the cornerstone of our company since our beginning.....over 38 years ago. Any orders currently in house will be honored at the old prices. All other orders will be entered at the new prices enclosed.
We appreciate your past business and thank you in advance for your continued support in the future.
Sincerely,
Tom I. Lincir
President and CEO
Ivanko Barbell Company"

LONG ORDER LEAD TIMES & HIGHER PRICES EXPECTED
Order lead times on much of the Ivanko product line may extend beyond the normal 30 day period as a result of factory back orders due to shortages of raw materials. China is buying a large majority of the world supply of metal including iron, steel, nickel and chromium, which is resulting in production gaps and decreased inventory. The increased demand for these materials will inevitably lead to further pricing increases as well.
This recent phenomena not only impacts Ivanko, but is an industry wide problem affecting a broad range of companies who depend on metal materials for manufacturing of their goods.
Ivanko is working to minimize the lead times and pricing increases as much as possible.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these uncertain times.

NEW PRICING INCREASE IN EFFECT
Letter excerpt from our rubber flooring material supplier
"As you are no doubt aware, price increases affecting our key raw materials have been significant in 2004 and, with oil prices at record highs, we have found it necessary to adjust our price structure. Despite our efforts to negotiate with our suppliers to maintain 2003 pricing and look at long term purchase agreements, we have been unable to avoid a cost hit on some raw materials: SBR, EPDM and Carbon Black, to name a few. We continue to strive towards greater cost efficiencies at our molding plant, but we have been unable to absorb the full burden of these raw material price increases.
Oil has increased by 50% this year, which has prompted raw material increases averaging 20% for our industry. Our raw material content is now at 60% of our finished cost. These price hikes have eroded our profit margin below the breakeven point on some of our molded products. In order for us to achieve a very modest margin, it has become necessary to pass along these increases to our customers.
We have, therefore, found it necessary to impose a 6% surcharge to color production tiles. This surcharge will become effective on October 30th and will remain in place until we see oil prices return to acceptable levels at circa $30 / barrel and below."

NEW PRICING INCREASE IN EFFECT
Letter from Chet Groskreutz, Vice President, Ivanko Barbell Company
"February, 19, 2004
To all our valued customers:
As many of you may be aware, there have been significant changes in the pricing structure for free weights, bars and accessories coming from China. The current environment has had and will continue to have a rippling effect on both the pricing and supply of these categories in the USA as well as other worldwide markets.
The history of the commodity prices and their impact on our business help to explain the emerging situation.
The 20-year bear market in commodities was particularly brutal to base metals, when prices for many metals hit all time lows. A number of mines worldwide shut down as prices plunged. Once global inventories of most base metals were finally exhausted in 2002, we saw prices begin to rise. In 2003, copper surged 49%; lead gained 42%; tin soared 45%; aluminum rose 17%; zinc gained 32%; and steel scrap, heavily acquired in China, skyrocketed 62%.
Supply deficits now exist for key commodities including platinum, which despite being a "precious metal". has many industrial uses. These supply imbalances will take time to eradicate since it takes several years to build, renovate or expand existing mines. Commodity prices soared in 2003, due to rising demand from commodity hungry China and other emerging markets.
We know that many Chinese foundries have shut down due to government pressures to reflect true costs of manufacturing. The Chinese government is now penalizing those Chinese foundries who participate in schemes to illegally sell iron at "cheap" prices below market costs. For years, many of these same foundries sold at below actual manufacturing costs which allowed for prices of cast iron to be at artificially low levels as the market enjoyed artificially "cheap" iron. This strategy has obvious dangers in that at some point in time the facts of what the real costs of manufacturing are will be realized and a correction in the market will take place. We are now seeing this market correction as it happens and the price increases are the effect of this correction.
Accordingly, Ivanko will be increasing prices to reflect these conditions effective immediately. We feel that our supplies are sufficient to take care of our customers and that these price increases are absolutely essential in order to maintain the Ivanko quality and service that you, our customers have demanded for over 37 years.
Orders and quotations in house before 2-19-04 will be shipped at the old prices.
Sincerely,
Chet Groskreutz, Vice President

IVANKO INTRODUCES
E Z LIFT COLORED PLATES TO RAVE
REVIEWS AT THE IHRSA SHOW IN
PHOENIX, AZ.
At the recent IHRSA trade show in Phoenix, Arizona, Ivanko Barbell Company acheived another milestone in its' 34 year history by introducing the industry's first colored Ivanko E Z Lift rubber plate.
This new product has proved again to the fitness industry that the Ivanko E Z Lift design is the best looking, most exciting, and with the new colors...Ivanko is the most innovative manufacturer of free weight plates in the business.
We heard nothing but compliments on the vibrant colors, the fresh look, and the classic design in keeping with the Ivanko tradition famous for over 34 years of leadership with original designs and fresh new ideas.
The demand for these colored plates have exceeded our most optimistic projections. This new line will be the most successful new product introduction in the history of the company.
Why settle for other old, worn out designs, when you can get Ivanko E Z Lift plates in colored, facility friendly rubber?
One of the most amazing things things that we heard was the how positive the reaction was from people who saw the plates in the booths on machines at the show. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive from every manufacturer that displayed the Ivanko colored plates at their booth.
Just think of the reaction that your members, clients, and customers will have when you bring in these new colored plates. After all the experience in Europe that Ivanko has had with this concept and the success that the european club owners have had with Ivanko colored rubber E Z Lift plates, it's time for clubs in the USA to introduce to their members the fresh, new look that the Ivanko E Z Lift design coupled with the new colors will bring to American club members all over the USA. Join the excitement, try the colors and see what happens, you'll be back for more, see the colore, see the difference 34 years of experience makes!

Ivanko Introduces Color Into Facility Weight Rooms

San Pedro, California - Henry Ford used to say "They can have any color they want, as
long as it's black". Ford changed that philosophy for cars in 1927. Ivanko is changing that philosophy for
weight rooms in 2002.
During 2001, members of selected health clubs in the UK have been waiting their turn to use Ivanko red,
yellow and blue colored E-Z Lift plates while the gray and black iron sits idle. Watching this phenomenon
unfold in its UK test, Ivanko has realized something that should have been obvious to everyone all along.
According to Tom Lincir, Ivanko's founder and President, "Sometimes a successful innovation can be a
simple idea that has been staring you in the face all along. Clubs and other facilities use aesthetic touches
throughout, in order to attract and keep members. The weight room is no exception".
The idea first occurred to Ivanko about three years ago when European clubs began placing orders for
Ivanko Olympic calibrated bumper plates. Since competition plates must be precisely calibrated to within
10 grams of weight accuracy, they are significantly more expensive than conventional plates. Nevertheless,
owner/operators were buying these high priced plates because they came in bright colors. So, the idea was
hatched to offer non-competition plates in colors as well, which would be more affordable for general use.
Now with a successful UK test, Ivanko's new plates will hit the US 2nd Quarter 2002. According to Chet
Groskreutz, VP of Sales & Marketing, "With these colored plates, you can transform the look and feel of the
entire weight room and all your plate-loaded equipment, for the cost of a few new machines".
Ivanko's new colored E-Z Lift line is built around the popular E-Z Lift seven-hole grip design for aesthetic
reasons. The seven large holes allow a great deal of light to pass through, which serves to broadcast the colors
and visual highlights throughout the weight training area.
Ivanko elected to rubber coat the plates because rubber is easier on equipment. Nothing protects like rubber.
A key challenge has been to achieve brilliance and clarity in colored rubber coatings. Black is easy, but
rubber does not as readily intergrate with colored dyes. A great deal of research and development has gone
into finding the right combination of rubber formulation and dye chemistry. The formulations must also hold
their consistency from one production run to the next, to match plates that are added later on.
With Ivanko's new colored E-Z Lift plates, weight room users can now workout with any color they want, as
long as it's black, gray, red, yellow, or blue.

Ivanko Barbell Company has acquired Jackson International Barbell Company for an undisclosed amount. Jackson
International Barbell Company, founded in 1932 by Andrew W. Jackson of Springfield, New Jersey, was noted for
making the finest and strongest Olympic bars, precision calibrated plates, and collars in the industry. Jackson
was one of the first legitimate inventors of the so-called "grip plate." The company, which closed down in 1975,
consists of patterns, blueprints, and trade secrets, as well as some unusual forgotten technologies. Ivanko
discovered the company assets in an archive, while researching it's legal defense against what Ivanko considers
to have been a frivolous patent infrigement lawsuit.

Industry Leadership Focus
Our industry celebrates and rewards new ideas that improve the performance and durability of strength training
products. Ivanko's mission since its founding in 1967 has been to introduce totally new innovations to the industry,
and to perfect existing ideas and technology. They are proud of their contributions to the rich history of the barbell,
and to the lives of people who use their products to pursue physical health and strength.

Ivanko introduces it's new rubber E-Z Lift Plates. These rubber plates features Ivanko's exclusive E-Z lift
design of which a patent has recently been allowed. Ivanko rubber E-Z Lift plates will not crack, chip,
flake, peel, rust or tear like cast iron painted or other non-rubber plates. Because the plates are rubber
they will not damage floors or upholstery nor dent or scratch equipment. Ivanko's E-Z Lift rubber
plates can easily be used with any style of plate racks either sliding, post, shelf type or "spider" racks,
without worrying about compression dents on equipment frames or other damage that can occur with other
non-rubber plates. Ivanko's exclusive rubber formula has a pleasant scent when compared to the offensive
smell of other rubber plates.

As with all Ivanko E-Z Lift Plates, the openings have smooth radius and rounded edges for maximum comfort
while grabbing the plates. Compare the "Feel", "look", and "function" of Ivanko E-Z Lift Plates with any
competitor. We know you'll choose Ivanko! The real innovator since 1969.
January 2000

Ivanko introduces it's new patent pending E-Z Lift Plates. These new plates feature a traditional, round shape,
multi-opening, E-Z lift design. Our plates incorporate (7) openings, not just (2) or (3). These extra openings
dramatically improve handling off the floor and on and off machines and bars. Ivanko E-Z lift plates are the same
diameter as conventional round Olympic plates and easily integrate with existing plates in the facility. This allows
any facility to add E-Z lift plates, without having to discard their older plates. Watch for our rubber, urethane
and Ivanko's exclusive, new ultrathane models coming soon.

All of the openings have smooth radius and rounded edges for maximum comfort while grabbing the plates. Because they
are round, there are no sharp "points" or "edges" to cut floors and damage equipment as with other "anti-roll" designs.
Ivanko's rounded, contour shape of the plate conforms better to the hand, making it easier to carry. We round all edges
to make it more comfortable to hold onto. Available in baked-on, polyester based, hammertone grey painted finish.
